For the application auto. Last updated 22 September 2026.

auto is a personal automation system run by one person on their own server, for their own use. It is not a product, it has no users other than its operator, and nobody can sign up for it.

What it reads

With the operator's explicit authorisation, given in their own bank's interface, the application reads — for the bank accounts the operator links, and no others:

Access is read-only. The application requests account information only. It cannot and does not initiate payments or move money.

Why

To produce a short private summary — the balance and how it has changed — which is delivered to the operator each morning. Nothing else is done with the data.

Where it goes

The data is stored in a database on the operator's own server. Backups are encrypted with a key held only by the operator. The data is not sold, not shared, not published, and not used for advertising, profiling or training.

Two third parties are necessarily involved:

No balance, transaction or account number is sent to any AI or language model provider. The part of the summary that contains figures is written by the application itself and never leaves the server except in the message to its operator.

How long

Balances and transactions are kept so that changes can be compared over time, until the operator deletes them. Authorisation to read the account expires by itself and must be renewed; it can also be withdrawn at any moment in the bank's own interface, which stops all further access immediately.
